El Dorado Park Long Beach 7550 E. Spring St, (562) 570-1771 Land Area: 388.2 acres http://www.longbeach.gov/park/park-and-facilities/directory/el-dorado-east-regional-park/
One of my favorite places to go while at CSULB, this park is huge! With lakes, hiking trails, disk golf, archery ranges, fishing, golfing, bike riding, playgrounds, remote control boating, remote control airplane field, physical fitness course and much more! The regional park costs $6-8 dollars depending on the day you go but much of the land can be accessed for free.
Explore other parks and areas of interest: La is full of museums, hiking trails, parks, observatories, etc… http://www.laparks.org/
GeoCaching: Get out and explore any part of LA in search of hidden treasure. Geocaches are tiny “caches” or containers hidden all over the world there are thousands hidden right in LA. Hunt them down using only their coordinates and maybe a small hint if you’re lucky. They range from as small as a tube containing a simple log to sign that you found to large containers with trinkets and log books. It’s a give one take one deal with the trinkets (Simple things picked up at the dollar store) although some have rewards for being the first to find them, including cash. Pokemon Go: The new free app is a growing phenomena designed around getting out and exploring where ever you are. Remember to keep an eye on your surroundings and be safe!
